The agreement between you and Open Source Security, Inc.
Overview
These Terms of Service govern your use of services provided by Open Source Security, Inc. ("OSS," "we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware S-Corporation. By purchasing our services or using SafeNet, you agree to these terms.
We keep these terms straightforward and fair. No hidden gotchas, no aggressive legal language. If something is unclear, ask us.
Services We Provide
OSS provides two primary services:
SecureNet Consultation
Professional configuration and onboarding for OPNsense-based network security systems on Protectli hardware. This includes:
- • Pre-configured SecureNet system installation
- • Remote video consultation to customize the system to your home
- • Documentation and restore procedures
- • Hardware failure coordination with Protectli
SafeNet VPN
Optional subscription service providing private browsing through our VPN infrastructure. SafeNet is available only to SecureNet customers with active Protectli Vault hardware.
Service Availability
Our services are currently offered primarily to customers in the United States. This includes:
- • Hardware shipping: Protectli ships to US addresses only
- • SafeNet servers: Located in the United States
- • Consultation scheduling: Available across US time zones
We plan to expand to additional regions in the future, with dedicated infrastructure and local support for each region.
Consultation Terms
Scheduling and Cancellation
Customer Cancellations
- • 72+ hours before: Full refund available
- • Under 72 hours: No cancellation or refund
- • No-show: Consultation fee forfeited
OSS Cancellations
- • We will provide 72 hours notice when possible
- • Reschedules accommodated at your convenience
- • Full refund available if we cannot reschedule
We reserve discretion to issue exceptions in good-faith circumstances.
Consultation Scope
The onboarding consultation covers SecureNet configuration for your home network. It does not include:
- • Troubleshooting your ISP or modem issues
- • Configuring third-party devices or software
- • Custom configurations beyond SecureNet's standard setup
- • Ongoing technical support
SafeNet VPN Terms
Acceptable Use
SafeNet is designed for private web browsing. Enforcement is based on aggregate traffic patterns and service health indicators, not inspection of content or browsing activity.
Prohibited Uses
- • Streaming services: Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube TV, etc.
- • Torrenting: BitTorrent, P2P file sharing
- • Illegal activity: Any activity illegal under US law
- • Network abuse: Attacks, spam, or malicious activity
- • Reselling: Sharing or reselling your SafeNet access
Limitation of Liability
OSS provides professional guidance and system configuration, not managed security monitoring. We do not guarantee protection against all security threats, 100% uptime, compatibility with all ISPs, or specific network performance.
Our liability is limited to the fees you have paid for services. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
